Flapjacks

Ingredients:

  • 150g butter or vegan spread

  • 100g brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp golden syrup or honey

  • 250g rolled oats

  • Optional: handful of raisins, seeds, chopped fruit or nuts

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a 20cm square tin.

  2. Melt butter, sugar, and syrup together in a pan.

  3. Stir in oats (and extras if using).

  4. Press mixture into the tin and bake 20–25 mins until golden.

  5. Cool slightly, then cut into squares while still warm.
